The St. Paul Wedding of Jason & Jess

They met some time ago. . .set up by Jess’s sister on a blind date. . .with the odds of blind dates actually working, against them . . .but there was something about him. . .something about her. . . that they couldn’t get out of their minds.  As time went on. . . a relationship formed . . . love grew . . . a proposal was asked.  After months of planning and tending to details, the big day had finally arrived.

Jess & Jason chose such a gorgeous venue to have their wedding at.  It was held at Black Bear Crossings at Como Park in St. Paul.  There is a beautiful water fall and the scenery is breathtaking!

The String Quartet played as the bride entered. . .

Jason looked extra sharp in his tux and Jess’s dress was absolutely stunning.  She definitely was the princess for the day 🙂

Jess & I have noticed, through engagement and wedding photographs, that Jason is a giggler when a camera is pointed toward him.  Every time I’d raise my camera, I hear a faint, “hehehehehe”.  It was pretty hilarious later during family shots, when Jess exclaimed, “They all giggle!”  during Jason’s family photo!

Special thanks to Jeni Chrusceil from Simply Stated Elegance for the colorful flowers and floral arrangements.  I was raving to Jess the whole time about her gorgeous flowers!

I had the pleasure of having the talented Audrey Johnson as my assistant for the day.  As I was working with the groups, she caught some awesome candids.

The one below is one of my favs!

No detail was overlooked in this tropical themed reception.  Jess and Jason had planned out everything with so much thought and it showed in the striking contrast of the red, black and white throughout the room.  Beautiful!!

Once dinner was over, the newlyweds headed to the dance floor for their first dance, followed by the father-daughter and mother-son dances.  Jess has told me she’s always been daddy’s little girl and he swung her around the dancefloor with so much love.  Jason and his mom’s dance left me sobbing in the corner as I hid behind my camera.  They laughed and talked as Jason’s mom looked at him with so much pride and emotion.  *tears*

After that, the dance floor was free reign to all those who were ready to boogy. . .and boy did they!

Congratulations once again Mr. & Mrs. Knutson!!  You guys seriously rock – keep it up!  All the best to you for years and years to come!!

What beautiful photographs to capture an even more beautiful occasion of Jessica’s and Jason’s wedding. Wish so much I could have been there in body to share in your day. Family commitments kept me away. I was with you in spirit that beautiful autumn afternoon! Jennifer’s photography is simply stunning – leaving no detail undone.

I just love the new generation photographers! Jen captured all of the excitement and happiness of a beautiful couple and their whole day. In “our” day, photos were so traditional and formal, we didn’t get the candid shots like those taken at Jess and Jason’s wedding. Beautiful pictures of a beautiful, happy couple!! Love you both!!!! And, yes, Jessie, I was crying while I looked through these photos and while I’m writing this.
